The Hatian Revoultion was a successful slave revolt against French Colonial powers. The Fugitive Slave Law were laws passed by the United States Congress in 1793 and 1850 to provide for the return of slaves who escaped from one state into another and the Louisiana Purchase was a territory in the western United States purchased from France in 1803 for $15 million; extends from the Mississippi River to the Rocky Mountains.
Haiti was first known as Saint Domingue, a French colony in the Caribbean. The black people on the island were fed up with slavery so they revolted against it. Haiti became the first republic governed by black people. With the Fugitive Slave Law of 1793, if you were an escaped slave, you were given back to your master no matter what. Northern states didn't like this, but it happened anyway. The Louisiana Purchase was when the United States bought a section of land which is now several states and some Canadian provinces.
The Haitian Revolution was a uprising agianst the slave owners. Fugitive Slave Laws of 1793 was put into affect after slaves began to runaway, the law gave masters the right to return them to property and anyone holding slaves would be fined. Louisiana Purchase was when Thomas Jefferson purchased Louisiana and other land westward of it from Napoleon.
Haitian revolution was entirely driven by the passions of men and women who had been enslaved most if not all of their lives. They didn't simply desire liberty, they wanted vengeance. Over the next three weeks, the Haitian slaves burned every plantation throughout the fertile regions of Haiti and executed all Frenchmen they could find. The French fled to the seacoast towns and pleaded with France to help them out while the island burned. Fugitive Slave Act of 1793 to resolve the ambiguities present in previous legislation. Slave catchers were permitted to capture a runaway slave in any state or territory and needed only to prove orally to a federal or state judge that the person was an escaped slave. Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte had a vision of a renewed western empire for France, and his schemes included the recapture of Louisiana from Spain. Control over this vast territory would halt the westward expansion of the young United States and would supply French colonies in the West Indies with the goods they needed
