In my opinion, W.E.B. Du bois view of education was better than Washington. W.E.B made education a high priority of his life style. Du bois understood the social and economical problems that African Americans face back in the 1960"s.
I believe that Booker T. Washington's view on education was better. He believed that along with education a trade was needed in order to survive in society. I believe that education will get you a long but if you want to excel you must know what to do with your education. You must make something of yourself by learning a trade.
They both had their points. What might work from some black people might not work for others. Booker T. Washington's view would have been better for African Americans who were illiterate. They would have benefited better from a trade. The view of W.E.B. Du Bois was better suited for African Americans who had the drive to actually learn and not just get a job. No such view can be better because it is all up to a person's own interpretation.
Im my opinion, for what I know about both of these, Washington had better views out of the two. He believed that along with education, you should have a trade as well so that you can go on and teach other people. This could help out the community in many different ways.
booker t washington Leaving Malden at sixteen, Washington enrolled at the Hampton Normal and Agricultural Institute, in Hampton, Virginia. Students with little income such as Washington could work at the school to pay their way. The normal school at Hampton was founded to train teachers, as education was seen as a critical need by the black community. Funding came from the federal government and white Protestant groups. From 1878 to 1879 Washington attended Wayland Seminary in Washington, D.C., and returned to teach at Hampton. The president of Hampton, Samuel C. Armstrong recommended Washington to become the first principal at Tuskegee Institute, a similar school being founded in Alabama he took education very seriousley
