How do you think African Americans were treated in relation to World War I?

  1. I don't really know what happened in World War I, but if it's any indication of what has happened in the past with African Americans and the military, I don't think it was good. I think that African Americans were treated badly because white people didn't care about them at all.

  2. African Americans were treated fairly with minor segregation. They were given minial jobs and most ended up fighting in the war.

  3. I think that the discrimination that was practiced in all the previous wars was still in place during World War I. Blacks were not paid the same and were not ranked the same as white soldiers. I believe that as blacks put their lives on the line for their country that they were still not treated as if they were worthy of fighting in a war.

  4. African Americans were forced to fight in segregated units, they weren't originally allowed to fihgt. Once they were treated just like the white soldiers. African Americans were also given minial jobs.

  5. I think that African Americans weren't treated any differently really because they still weren't favored in the South really but they were allowed to fight in the war but even that didn't change the way African American's were wrongly discriminated against.

  6. During World Wars 1, Blacks were treated terrible in the South. But in Europe, they were only treated good depending on who you were, and what you did.
